Sew Together Bag Sewing. December 8, 2014 -. My weekend quilting consisted mostly of finishing up five "Sew Together Bags" (pattern available here) that I had started a few weeks ago. I think I pieced together the outer bag patchwork pieces a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, but then things got a little crazy!

1: I switched out the interfacing for the exterior to peltex. I like stiff bags and this definitely gives it a stiffer feel. I also used shape-flex to interface the interior pockets. Again, this was a personal choice because I want my bag to keep its shape. 2: The exterior is pieced, and I love it! I used 2″ squares and my little 3-1/4.

I did make a few adjustments to the original pattern; Moved the exterior pocket fold line out by 1/4″. Cut the binding at 2″ and hand-finished it on both side seams and top zip. Interfaced the zipper tabs. find the sew together bag pattern here. I love it so much I've even used a scotch-guard spray to stop it getting dirty!
